Displacement flagging marks reps where an athlete's rep displacement is below 90% of their average baseline. The tablet shows a red chip under the bar in real time, so the athlete can fix their depth on the next rep instead of finding out after the session. Displacement flagging is only displayed for Squat and Press movements.
Note: Displacement Score flagging is included in Core+ and Pro.
Turning Displacement Flagging on at exercise level
On the web app you set the default for each exercise. That default is what every tablet follows unless a coach overrides it on the tablet itself.
- Go to Plan and open the Exercise Library.
- Find the exercise you want and open it for editing.
- Look for the Displacement Flagging dropdown.
- Set it to On to have the tablet show displacement chips for this exercise by default, or Off to leave them hidden.
- Save the exercise.
Turning Displacement Flagging on for a Tablet
The tablet has its own Displacement flagging setting. Use it to follow the exercise defaults you set on the web, or to force chips on or off for everything on that tablet
- Open Settings on the tablet and go to Preferences.
- Scroll to the Technique section. The Displacement Flagging row shows the current mode underneath it.
- Tap Edit.
- Choose the mode you want:
- Tap Done.
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| Default to exercise | Follows the Displacement Flagging setting you chose on the web for each exercise. |
| Always on | Shows displacement chips for every supported exercise on this tablet, whatever the exercise default says. |
| Always off | Hides displacement chips on this tablet entirely. |
How are displacement baselines calculated?
Displacement flags are generated when an athlete records a rep with less than 90% of their displacement baseline. The athlete's displacement baseline is calculated as the athlete's median displacement over a specific range of reps and sets. To generate a displacement baseline, the athlete must have recorded a minimum of 20 reps over at least 2 sets. If the athlete does not have a displacement baseline, their displacement cannot be flagged.
Where else are flagged reps shown?
Short reps are also marked after the set, allowing coaches to review displacement flags in later analysis. These flags are always available after the set, whether Displacement flagging is turned on or off for the exercise or tablet.
Set Summary - Tablet
Open a completed set on the tablet to see its rep chart. Reps below 90% of the athlete's baseline are marked with a red chip. A coach who prefers to run sessions without chips on the lifting screen can still review range of motion afterwards.
Athlete Status table - Web
On the homepage - Athlete Status table, displacement is flagged at the session level. The flag shows when the athlete's most recent session contains sets flagged for low displacement. The flag contains the percentage and total count of flagged sets in the session.
Athlete profile - Web
Within the Athlete profile - Set history table, displacement is flagged at the set level. Sets are flagged when 30% or more reps in the set are below 90% of the athlete's displacement baseline. Eg if 2 out of 5 sets are below the baseline (40%) they set will be flagged.
Set Summary - Web
In the Set Summary, displacement is flagged at the rep level. It is displayed in both the Rep by Rep graph and Set history table. Any reps that fall below 90% of the athlete's displacement baseline are flagged here.
