Live Sync keeps an athlete's workout progress in sync across every Perch tablet in your facility. When an athlete completes sets on one tablet, those sets automatically appear on any other tablet where the same athlete is logged in and in the same workout — so athletes can move between stations, and coaches can work from a second tablet, without losing or duplicating progress.
Note: Live Sync is near real‑time. Completed sets typically appear on the other tablet within a few seconds. All tablets must be running Tablet App version 2.6.0 or later and be connected to the internet.
Required Tablet App: Version 2.6.0+
Setting up Live Sync across two tablets
1. Tablet A: log in an athlete.
2. Tablet B: log in the same athlete. (Live Sync works per athlete, so the same athlete must be signed in on both devices.)
3. Tablet A and B: Open and start the same workout for that athlete.
Note: Both tablets must be on the same account and connected to the internet for progress to sync.
Joining an existing session
When you start the workout on the second tablet, Perch notices the athlete is already working on that workout on another device and shows the "Another device is in this workout" prompt.
- Join: Share progress with the other tablet. Sets completed on either device will now sync to both, and the athlete can move freely between them.
- Keep Separate: Continue working on this device as its own session, without syncing progress from the other tablet.
Using Live Sync during a workout
- Complete a set on Tablet A. Within a few seconds, that completed set appears on Tablet B for the same athlete.
- The athlete can move to a different station and pick up where they left off on the other tablet, the workout follows the athlete across devices.
- A coach can monitor or manage the same session from a second tablet while the athlete lifts on the first.
If a set has already been completed
If a set was already completed for that athlete on another device, Perch will show a “Set already completed” message on the second tablet. This prevents the same set from being logged twice. Tap OK to dismiss the message and continue.
What happens if the connection drops?
Live Sync retries automatically. If a tablet temporarily loses connectivity, progress logged on that device is preserved locally, and syncing resumes on its own once the connection returns.
Why use Live Sync?
- Circuit training: Athletes can rotate between stations without their progress being stranded on a single tablet.
- No lost or duplicated sets: Completed work stays consistent across every device the athlete uses.
- Coach flexibility: Run and monitor a session from more than one tablet at the same time.
