Insights home
The Perch Insights home page provides access to both Perch Dashboards and Reports, as well as your previously saved reports and dashboards.
With Perch Insights you can:

Dashboards
When you want to quickly find a dashboard to visualise your team's or athlete's data or a report to see your data at a more granular level, click on the blue View button to be taken directly into that dashboard or report.
Train Overview
The Train Overview Dashboard gives coaches a high-level summary of team training activity. It displays velocity-based metrics across zones alongside a breakdown of activity by team and position group, making it easy to assess training load and intensity distribution at a glance. Use it to quickly understand how athletes are training across the squad, identify how different position groups compare, and ensure training is being executed at the intended intensity.
Team Exercise
The Team Exercise Dashboard is a comprehensive data visualisation tool powered by Perch Performance Scores. It helps coaches quantifiably analyse their athletes' strength, speed, and power progress over time through various charts and metrics - including team overviews, performance changes, and training distributions - to answer key questions about team improvement and guide program design decisions.
Reports
Creating a report
To create a new report:
1. Select a report preview, or select New and choose a report type you'd like to create.
2. Add a report name and description.
- Choose a name that makes it easy to identify the filters applied. For example, a regularly downloaded report might be named "Weekly Export – Football" with a description like "Skills + QB, last 7 days." Alternatively, a readiness report shared with sport coaches might use "Men's Soccer Readiness: April" with a description that highlights the key conclusion.
Shared Insight Library: All coaches in your organisation who have access to reports will see the reports that you save to your Insights Library.
3. Select and save unique filters: When the report is saved, the filter settings are saved with the report, making it easy to reuse the same view over time.
- Manage columns: Once you've selected your filters, you can select the Manage Columns button to pick and choose the data that you want to see - column selections are saved with the report too.
4. Return to your Insights Library to view, share or export your report at any time.
Train Sets
Includes all set data collected with Perch exercises, whether tracked or untracked.
Select from a variety of filters: Users, team, positions, exercise, and date range. You can also choose at what level you'd like to view your data (set level vs rep level).
Keep in mind that Manage Columns with "Sets" filter selected will yield different results than if you select the "Reps" filter.
- Set level: Shows how performance changes from set to set, helping you understand fatigue and changes over the course of a session.
- Rep level: Shows changes within a set rather than between sets. Also provides the ability to see asymmetries and imbalances for lower body unilateral exercises.
Evaluate Sets
Includes all set data collected with Perch assessments. Jump Height is included by default.
If you're interested in analysing additional metrics alongside Jump Height - such as Time to Takeoff, Takeoff Velocity, or RSI Modified - contact your Perch representative to discuss upgrading for access to advanced metrics.
Readiness
Includes additional aggregated data specific for monitoring athlete fatigue and determining athlete readiness from any assessment activities completed using Perch.
Session comparisons
Gain insight into how an athlete is performing relative to their own history using Perch Evaluate. The report shows how the most recent session compares to the session prior and to the athlete's 30-day average.
Readiness status
Each athlete is assigned a readiness status based on their Z-score:
- Green: Z-score greater than 1
- Yellow: Z-score between -1 and -2
- Red: Z-score of -2 or below
Compliance
The Compliance report lets you analyse which athletes are completing their prescribed workouts and how well. You can see volume and intensity completed, tonnage, and goal accuracy.
Perch supports range-based prescriptions (e.g. 8–10 reps, or 50–80% of 1RM) as well as greater-than and less-than targets.
Note that > and < are treated as greater than or equal to and less than or equal to respectively.
How completion percentages are calculated
- Within the prescribed range: Displays as 100%.
- For example: prescribe 5–8 reps and complete 7 = 100% compliance. Prescribe 50–80% of 1RM and complete 50% = 100% compliance.
- Below the prescribed range: Calculated as a percentage of the lower value of the range.
- For example: prescribe 8–10 reps and complete 6 = 75%.
- Above the prescribed range: Calculated as a percentage of the upper value of the range.
- For example: prescribe 8–10 reps and complete 15 = 150%.
- Aggregated daily totals: Calculated based on the maximum of the prescribed range.
- If there is a stated max (e.g. 8–10 reps), the percentage is based on 10. If there is only a minimum target (do at least 8 reps) or maximum target (do no less than 50% of a 1RM), it is based on that stated number.
Personal Best
The Perch Personal Best report lets you quickly see your athletes' best lifts across different intensities and timeframes. You can view personal bests for a range of metrics. The report has two distinct views, which can be toggled using the view filter.
Rep view
Shows each athlete's personal best set for any metric based on set volume.
% 1RM view
Shows athletes' personal best lifts for any metric within specific intensity bands, making it easy to compare performance at equivalent relative loads.
Longitudinal
The Perch Longitudinal report lets you easily visualise and explore athlete progression over time. It includes two main components.
Longitudinal Graph
Provides a quick view of trends and outliers, making it simple to compare athletes side by side and identify meaningful shifts in performance over time.
Longitudinal Table
Allows you to dive deeper into the details and underlying metrics. You can choose to view the data as an average or focus on the best set over selected time periods, giving you a clear and flexible way to track performance and progression.
