Selecting your organization name in the top right-hand corner of the web app will take you to your Organization Page, where you can manage things within your account! Edit your teams, adjust your rosters, set lifting groups, set favorite exercises, and set/adjust 1 rep maxes, all in one spot.
Teams
You can set up your Teams along the top of the page. Teams can be used to filter when doing things like exporting, analyzing Insights, or using the Leaderboard.
To set up a team, select the + button under the View dropdown that defaults to User Management. You can name the team whatever you'd like - this functionality is typically used for different groups of athletes (Bigs/Combos/Skills on a football team), different positions (guard/forward/center on a basketball team), or different sports (baseball/softball/volleyball within the Olympic department of a university or high school).
User Management
This is where your roster management will take place. You can create and edit users, set roles, deactivate or reactivate users, create/edit positions, add emails, and add information like gender, height, and weight. To learn more about this functionality, read through this article.
Favorite Exercises
Adding favorite exercises will help you stay organized, allow you to put an emphasis on exercises you perform more frequently or want to highlight. These favorites will appear as their own category in the tablet app as well so that athletes and coaches can easily navigate through them on the floor.
- In the Views dropdown, select Exercises
- In the menu that opens, you will see four categories:
- "All" will display every exercise in your database, whether it's tracked or untracked. To learn more about creating custom exercises, click here!
- ***Please keep in mind that any trackable exercises will need to be added by Perch - please reach out to your representative if there are exercises you'd like to track!
- Favorites will display all of your favorited exercises, and will be mirrored on the tablet.
- Custom will display any exercise you created yourself.
- Archive will display any exercise that you've moved to the archives, which will not display on the tablet and will not be included in program creation when you're looking to add exercises to programs, workouts, or templates.
- "All" will display every exercise in your database, whether it's tracked or untracked. To learn more about creating custom exercises, click here!
- To add to your favorites, you can search through the left menu, and simply click the star. The exercise will be favorited and immediately added to your favorite menu.
- To undo this, simply click the star again and the exercise will be unfavorited.
1RMs
Saving an athlete's 1 RM in the Perch web app has several key benefits. It'll help to allow athletes to understand what load to put onto the bar without having to touch the screen through a Plan, but it can also help to identify progression within exports - they're stored, so you're able to see how they progress with loads as they adapt and get bigger, stronger, and faster.
To edit a single exercise's 1 RM:
- Locate the "Views" drop down menu and select "1 RMs." This will adjust the view and take you into an exercise in your database. Click the exercise drop down in the top left and select the exercise in question.
- Select the 1RM setting for the exercise. You can choose between Entered, Estimated, and Linked.
- Entered 1RMs are dictated by manual entry - if you say that an athlete has a 1RM of 500 pounds, that's what will be used as their 1RM. This is not dynamic, and will only change if you change it manually.
- Estimated 1RMs are based on the athlete's Load Velocity Profile and where it intersects with the Minimum Velocity Threshold for the selected exercise. To learn more about it, see our article here!
- Linked 1RMs are dictated based on another exercise's 1RM. When you select Linked, you will be asked which exercise you'd like to link to, and what percentage. This will determine the selected exercise's 1RM based - if you have 80% selected, your 1RM will be 80% of the other exercise based on that exercise's setting (either Entered or Estimated).
- To change a 1RM for a single athlete, select the pencil icon next to their name and you'll be able to manually change their Entered 1RM, or individually change their 1RM Setting without having to adjust the rest of the team.
- All of the settings will be listed on that same page, so if you're trying to decide which 1RM setting you'd like to use, you will be able to sort the page based on the existing values and make your decision based off of the numbers that you see.
Importing and Exporting 1 RMs
- In the 1RMs section, select the Export Entered 1RMs button and from the multi-select menu, choose your exercises. You will download a CSV with those exercises in it where you can enter 1RMs for your roster for multiple exercises at once.
- Open the CSV and add the 1RMs for your users. Please note, the formatting must remain the same - don't delete any of the existing IDs on the page. Save the document.
- Back in the Web App, select the Upload 1RMs button. Click on the Choose File option and select the file saved in step 2 above. Click Save, and find the exercises that have 1RMs entered in the document selected - they should now have numbers associated with the appropriate athletes.
Groups
Groups are conceptually similar to teams. They are just another way of grouping and organizing your athletes. You can create groups under your overall organization, or within teams. Once groups have been created, they can be used to create lifting groups to quickly log multiple athletes in at once on the tablet or filter an export. To create Groups:
- In the User Management page, select the blue Create New button in the top right hand corner of the page.
- Select Group and name your group.
-
Select the "Add Users" button to add users to a group.
***Note: groups work hierarchically. If you create a group under the "All" team, you can add any members of your organization to a group. If you create a group within a team, The only users available must be part of the Team. We recommend adding users to a team before creating groups.
